Part 15/18:

Despite our best efforts, exploring the Oort Cloud remains an enormous challenge. The most distant spacecraft, Voyager 1, launched in 1977, travels at about 17 km/s (or 61,000 km/h). Even at this blistering speed, it won’t reach the inner edge of the Oort Cloud until approximately 2325, and the entire journey across the cloud would take around 30,000 more years.

Adding to the challenge, Voyager’s power source is expected to run out by 2025. Once it ceases to operate, it will drift silently, unable to communicate or even confirm its location. Other probes like Voyager 2, Pioneers, and New Horizons face similar fates—they will reach the Oort Cloud but be dead long before discovering its secrets.
