The signs of Sudro’s decline are visible everywhere. Streets that once teemed with shoppers and bustling businesses are eerily empty. Ju Guuang Mall, formerly one of the premier retail destinations, now sees virtually no customers. Meanwhile, Guangen Street’s commercial shops, which years ago thrived with high rents and bustling foot traffic, have all shuttered. Rental signs hang on nearly every storefront, signaling mass closures that leave the city’s commercial landscape desolate.
