Interestingly, the broken corner of the seal resembles Cernunnos, a horned Celtic deity associated with animal power and fertility. Although chronologically and geographically distant, the visual similarities hint at universal archetypes of horned, animal-related deities controlling chaos and nature—signaling a shared human symbolic language.
Early Symbols of Shiva and the Rudra-Cult
Adding to the corpus of religious symbolism, archaeologists have uncovered stone lingams—symbolic representations of Shiva—from multiple site layers, including Mohenjo-daro. Their presence predates Puranic texts and suggests an early Rudra-Shiva cult, linking the Indus religious practices with core themes later centered in Hindu tradition.
