Part 1/8:
Revitalizing the Spanish Pavilion: A Journey of Transformation
Harrison, New Jersey, is home to the Spanish Pavilion, a family restaurant steeped in history and tradition, located just a mile and a half from Newark's vibrant Ironbound neighborhood, known for its plethora of Spanish eateries. The Spanish Pavilion was established in 1976 by Antonio Fernandez, a pioneer of Spanish cuisine in New Jersey, who also opened the first Spanish restaurant in the state back in 1964. After a decade of retirement, Antonio returned to the culinary scene with the Pavilion, which he eventually passed on to his daughter, Belina, and her sons, Jerry and Michael.
