Soft-Boiled: Cook for 5 minutes.
Medium-Boiled: Cook for 7 minutes.
Hard-Boiled: Cook for 10 minutes.
As soon as the timer goes off, transfer the eggs into an ice bath. This stops the cooking process and prevents the eggs from becoming overcooked.
Resulting Textures
After a few minutes in the ice bath, let’s crack them open:
Soft-Boiled: The whites are firm while the yolk is runny, perfect for seasoning with salt and pepper. Enjoying it right from the shell is delightful!
Medium-Boiled: Here you’ll find a beautifully jammy yolk, creamy yet slightly set—this is a favorite for many.
Hard-Boiled: The yolk is fully set and the white is firm. While the texture is competent, it can sometimes be a touch rubbery.
