Once your dough reaches the right consistency, cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm, dark place for 2 to 3 hours to allow it to double in size. An oven turned off works as an excellent location for this step.
Prepping for Baking
After your dough has risen, it’s time to prepare for baking. Preheat a Dutch oven in your oven to 450°F for about 30 minutes. This high heat is crucial for achieving that perfect crust.

Once preheated, line the Dutch oven with parchment paper. Carefully uncover your dough; it should have noticeably increased in size. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently fold the sides towards the center to create a uniform ball.
