Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic in a little oil until they become fragrant and translucent. Then, add the canned chunky tomatoes, sugar, and Italian herbs. Season with salt and pepper, and allow the sauce to reduce for about 10 minutes. Fresh basil can be added at the end for an extra burst of flavor.
Cooking the Spaghetti
While the sauce is simmering, you can cook your spaghetti. Boil approximately 250 grams (or about 9 oz) of spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Make sure to keep an eye on it to achieve the perfect bite.
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and set it aside.
