To sweeten up your mix, incorporate 1/2 cup (100 grams) of granulated sugar and 1 cup (220 grams) of packed light brown sugar. The combination of the two sugars helps achieve the right texture without excessive spreading during baking. Mix the butter and sugars together at medium speed until light and fluffy, which should take about three minutes.
Add in Eggs and Wet Ingredients
Once the butter and sugar mixture is ready, it's time to add an egg and two teaspoons of vanilla extract for flavor. Mix these ingredients on medium until just combined.
Combine Everything Together
Now it's time to blend the dry and wet ingredients. With the mixer on low, gradually add the dry mix to the butter mixture. Stir until almost combined—a shaggy mixture is perfectly fine at this point.
