To the dry mix, add your wet ingredients: buttermilk (or its substitute), melted butter, sour cream (an extra scoop never hurts!), oil, eggs, and vanilla. As you mix, be careful not to over-mix; it’s perfectly fine for the batter to remain slightly lumpy.

Baking the Muffins

Preheat your oven to 450°F, which may seem high, but trust the process! Once your batter is ready, scoop it into your muffin tins. Although Christy used an ice cream scoop for portion control, any method will do.

With the oven heated, place your muffins inside and bake at 450°F for the initial 6 minutes. After that, lower the temperature to 350°F and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes. The total baking time will result in perfectly risen and golden muffins.
