Level the Cake Layers: If necessary, use a serrated knife to split each cake layer into two thinner layers, making four layers total.
Layer Construction: On your preferred serving plate, start with the first cake layer cut-side up. Brush half of the warmed jam on top, followed by a scoop of frosting and a layer of berries. Repeat this process with the remaining layers, finishing with a layer of cake.
Crumb Coat: Apply a thin layer of frosting around the entire cake to lock in the crumbs and provide a smooth base for decoration.
Final Frosting: Decorate the cake with a petal design using the remaining frosting, or simply cover with frosting and top with fresh berries for a simpler look.
