Start by combining warm milk, warm water, dry yeast, and a teaspoon of the total sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle in 4-5 tablespoons of flour, then cover the mixture with a lid or cling film. Place it in a warm area for about 15 minutes. An activated yeast mixture will be foamy, indicating it’s ready for the next steps.

Mixing the Dough

Once the yeast is active, add the egg, the remaining sugar (minus the reserved teaspoon), vegetable oil, and salt into the bowl. Gradually incorporate the remaining flour into the mixture. You can knead the dough manually or use a kitchen machine, working it for about 5 minutes.

Handling Sticky Dough

If the dough becomes too sticky, simply add a bit more flour or oil your hands with vegetable oil to prevent it from sticking further.
