Fast forward to the end of the rising period, your dough should have successfully doubled. Gently punch down the gas that has built up within the dough and divide it into four equal pieces. Depending on how large you want your bread loaves to be, you can adjust the portion sizes slightly. Roll out each piece with a rolling pin and shape them as desired.
Second Rise and Baking
Once shaped, place the dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover again with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel, allowing them to rise for another 40 to 50 minutes until doubling in size. Following the second rise, brush the tops of the dough with an egg wash, which will give your bread a beautiful golden brown finish.
