The cultivation process for walnuts is meticulous and complex, starting from the very roots of the trees. To enhance the growth of young walnut trees, farmers employ a technique called deep cultivation, which breaks up densely packed soil layers, allowing roots to establish themselves more easily. Additionally, grafting is applied to ensure the new trees exhibit desirable traits from the parent trees, enabling them to endure harsh conditions while still yielding high-quality nuts.
Once the grafted trees reach maturity, they are moved to larger orchards, where they undergo regular pruning. This process, typically done in winter or early spring, removes dead branches and enhances the trees' capacity to produce a bountiful harvest.
