Recipe 3: Spicy Garlicky Tofu Bites with a Tangy Sauce
Ingredients & Preparation
Tofu: Cubed into 1 cm pieces, coated with cornstarch, oil, salt, pepper
Sauce: Maple syrup, gochujang (Korean chili paste), soy sauce, rice vinegar
Aromatics: Minced garlic, diced shallot (or onion), sliced red chili peppers, chopped green onions
Steps:
Pan-fry the coated tofu until golden; avoid over-stirring initially to keep pieces intact.
Prepare the sauce by mixing maple syrup, gochujang, soy, and rice vinegar.
Sauté garlic, shallot, and chili slices in oil until fragrant.
Pour in sauce, simmer until slightly thickened.
Add tofu back into the pan, coating evenly with the sauce.
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
