Glued to the medias as if "staying informed" with what is happening out of reach, is going to keep it from getting to us.
Aren't many of us, or at least a significant portion, simply in denial about this? We often seek refuge in the comfort and tranquility of our own nation, expressing our opinions on social issues but not taking concrete steps to make a difference.
It's truly disheartening to witness the state of affairs in the world today.
And like you said, it is clear that we are often too absorbed in our own concerns, too self-centered.
