Technology improves everyday and as it is sad to say. It goes both ways , and can be used for a good purpose as well as bad.

It's inevitable.

Impersonation has been in existence right from time and we can only try to protect ourselves from it as much as we can.
Hypothetically, we all want scams to be eradicated but it's a truth we have to accept and live with, there might be a day when we will be free from scams but for now we need to protect ourselves with everything we can.

Impersonation is ideally a disguise as someone else for the purpose of fraud or scam.

I remember vividly, I had an experience sometime ago with an impersonator, he pretended to be one of the manager in one of the bank I partnered with, under the pretense of saying my bank account has been blocked due to some reasons and he would help me with unblocking it without me going to the bank if I just provided him the details he asked for.

What helped me out of the tragedy was that a friend of mine encountered the same just some weeks back, even though my friend fell victim, I had learnt a lesson from his experience.

There are various approach in which this scammers operate and I will mention few among other.

Through calls

They call you and ask for your bank security codes, sometimes it might not necessarily be about your bank, can also be other places where you keep your funds. An example is the short story above.

Through emails.

Codes and messages can be sent to you on your emails with links, the message urges you to click the link to solve your problem but its actually a trap , set to collect all information and data about you saved on your phone that can b used to there advantage. Beware.

There are also some instances where they impersonate a reputable company and they offer you ridiculous and juicy ways to double up your money within days.

Here, Greediness is a factor that needs to be dealt with internally if you don't want to fall victim in this kind of approach by the scammers.

It is important to get updated and acquainted with new strategies to safeguard ourselves from scam.

Share a scenario where you have been scammed or almost in the comment section to give others more insight and knowledge to counter a scam when they face something similar.
Y'all should stay safe out there.

Thanks for stopping by.
