Regarding the witness, let it produce blocks, remind people that you exist and let it compound.
I run a witness, on the former chain, with hardware servers in our locations. It did quite well, and we did not sell a SteemHive. We decided to take it out, due to other reasons, not because it was not profitable.
Will probably buy some DAO also, as your analysis is good, but need to read a little more.

My intention is the same, but the server costs are forefront and let the HIVE grow up over time. My first experience doing something like that and for now it's being very gratificant.
