To take a lease on Hive-Engine you only need to follow a few steps which you will understand in this post. What is an HP lease? It is a lease system where you take HP on lease. Under the agreement hive power is given to you and after that period it is taken back. Which means you get hive power but only for a temporary period.
Before taking an HP lease, it is very important to understand some important rules. If these rules are not followed you may get downvoted and in result you will get loss. That is why understanding some important rules before taking a lease is necessary. After taking an HP lease your influence in the ecosystem will increase. Your upvote value will increase which helps you in curating. You can curate others content and in return you will get curation rewards.
When you take a lease your vote value increases and more people attention will be towards you. You should take a lease only so you can support other people content. After taking a lease avoid self voting, vote circles and misuse of votes. Because Hive moderators do not like these things and if you do not folow the rules then you might start getting downvotes. But if you avoid these actions then certainly a Hive lease will not harm you.
What is the benefit of taking an HP lease? Do users use the lease as a business? No. Taking a lease gives no special profit. Because if you properly curate you may get only an 8% curation reward while HP lease can be available at 8% or more. This means after taking a lease your cost might break even. no profit and no loss.
Now I am confused about one thing, does taking an HP lease also give a 3% APR inflationary reward? I dont know about this. If it does that would be your benefit. if not, then there is no profit from taking the lease. Only possible growth is your account growth in the ecosystem. How?
Because with more HP people will start following you. When you curate good quality content they may vote back for you and this can increase rewards on your content. Also, users you upvote will start to like you, read your content, and engage with you in comments.
#Hive-Engine APR is 8.08% right now. This APR can give you neither profit nor loss. If you get a lower APR than this then that is your profit. if you get a higher APR than this you will be at a loss. It is very necessary to check APR before taking a lease so you dont take a lease that ends up losing you money.

STEP 1
Step by step method (Taking HP Lease)
Taking an HP lease has some easy steps. First of all you must log in to your account on #hive-engine. This is the only platform in the ecosystem offering this service. There is no other platform where you can take a lease. That is why #hive-engine exchange is my favorite because it has this great feature.
First you must deposit HIVE. Click on deposit and select the amount of HIVE you want to deposit and click OK. Confirm the transaction with Hive Keychain. In a few seconds the amount will appear in your Hive-Engine account as swap.hive.

STEP 2
After that click on the lease option. This will take you to another interface where different users have already requested leases at different APRs. By looking at their lease requests you will get an idea of the best APR. The higher APR you offer the faster your request will be filled.
If you want to lease click “Request a lease.” If you want to give a lease, click “Fill lease.” In the case of taking a lease when you click “Request a lease” you must select your hive account whether you are taking the lease for your account or want to give HP lease to a friend’s account.

STEP 3
After that select the HP lease amount.. How much lease you want? As you can see in the picture I wrote 20K HP, you can write any amount. The next step is to select how many weeks you want the lease for. I selected 12 weeks. How much HIVE you will pay each week, this option determines your APR.
Then confirm your request and your request will go into the queue. When some user sees that the APR is good they will fill your request and your lease will be granted. I have explained this step by step process and hope you liked it.
Did my post make HP leasing clear to you? Do you want to take an HP lease? Please share your opinion in the comment section.
I hope you find this post useful and informative. If you do, please remember to reblog it so that it reaches as many people as possible and that they can benefit the most from it. Also, remember to upvote, which will help me financially and grow my account.
