I just finished watching a video on the Internet Computer (ICP), and it really reinforced my own thinking—I still totally consider it a "sleeping giant." When you look at the facts, the market cap is already huge, nearly $2.5 billion, but the price has seen a big pullback and hasn't had its next significant move up yet. It's just chilling out right now, which is why the "sleeping" part of that term is so fitting.
The idea of ICP hitting $100 hasn’t left my mind, either. That translates to about a 20x or 21x return from its current standing. For me, that’s a realistic goal. I'm not chasing those highly improbable 100x or 1,000x returns from some tiny micro-cap project where the chance of failure is so high. I’d much rather put my faith in a project like ICP that is already established and decently sized.
To put that $100 goal into perspective, the market cap would be roughly $54 billion with the current circulating supply. That's still around $50 billion less than the all-time high market cap that BNB reached back in 2021. So, I don't see that valuation as impossible at all.
What really excites me is the technology. I genuinely believe ICP is more dynamic than the BNB chain. A major selling point, in my opinion, is its supposed ability to connect Web 2 and Web 3 without needing Oracles, essentially bypassing a step that other projects rely on. I also love the direction they are taking with developments like Caffeine AI, which is being called the world's first self-writing apps platform, and its involvement with Bitcoin DeFi.
Yes, I know ICP faces major competition from coins like Solana and Avalanche, but it’s still established and popular. And honestly, if I’m committed to a project and my strategy is to dollar-cost average, why would I complain about the price being low right now? My job is just to stay patient, hold onto my position, and wait for that volume to eventually flow into these lower market-cap, established projects. I'm a fan of the fundamentals, and only time will tell what happens next.
