I'd like to see short-form working across the sites so people can choose which to use. Looks like less people use Waves.

Yep, not many people use waves. The problem with compatibility is that the whole UI in engineered from the ground up to support a ton of features, and the current frontends do not handle polls, threads, nfts (soon) etc.

I noticed people talking about Thread colours, but those do not show in Decks, yet. We don't really want the different UIs to become too incompatible.

And that's exactly the thing in the end. LF developed threads on the backend, Ecency copied the idea and made only a frontend. So any feature on Threads built in the back is not handled by Ecency in the front, so it doesn't show.

Waves and other frontends are just that, a frontend, leo is an cusomized backend infrastructure with a frontend.
