I think he is reminding rich people that they live in a cage, by rattling it.

Poor people accept being poor, or work their way out of it, they got this, but it's easier to rattle the rich, they know they don't want to have to make it in the working class world.
He's building stockholm bonds with them, so that when he moves to sound money more of them go with him.
