Interstellar Travel Times

The distance from Earth to Kepler-452b is approximately 1,400 light-years. With current technology, the fastest spacecraft, Voyager 1, has a speed of about 0.006% of the speed of light. At this speed, it would take Voyager 1 over 70,000 years to reach Kepler-452b. However, if we were to travel at the speed of light (which is currently not possible with our technology), it would take about 1,400 years to reach Kepler-452b, or more accurately, 1,400 light-years.

Sort:

How could black holes or worm holes be used to, theoretically, cut the travel time in terms of years?

So we can conclude that @coyotelation went through a wormhole to reach Earth in a short period of time? It does seem that he is indeed a space alien, coming to Earth from afar.

LOL

Honestly, it would be really cool if we could have technology that could do this kind of travel. It would save us a lot of time and we could explore more of space in search of a new habitable planet.
