What would i do with all that money?
Well, firstly i would make sure my essential needs were met, both now and for many years to come. As i own my property and live frugally in a cheap country, $1,000,000 would be more than enough for me.
So, i am left with 999 million dollars (or equivalent in today's value in a more trustworthy medium of exchange such as Bitcoin or HIVE perhaps).
Well, i would donate 999 million dollars (or equivalent) to some worthy causes. I would however want to be pretty damn sure that those causes were really worthy.
What type of Worthy causes would I donate to?
- I would help those in hunger feed themselves.
- I would help those in poor health (physical, mental and emotional) learn how to heal themselves.
- I would help those in need of shelter and safety in general.
- I would help create a worldwide network of inter-connected self-sustainable freedom cells and eco-villages.

This is off the top of my head.
Now if i were a billionaire, i would likely be sharing this 999 million between hundreds or even thousands of different organisations.
It's all me very well wanting to help humanitarian causes, but i would want to know for sure that the money i donate was used well, for altruistic purposes, for the good of all humanity, not feeding fat cat bureaucracies.
If i'm giving away nearly a billion bucks (or equivalent in HIVE or BTC or KLU) to hundreds of different organisations, it would be very difficult for me to examine each of those organisations so i could be very sure that the funds would be used wisely.

How would i choose which Worthy Causes Organisations to Donate too?
Now that's a question for me to answer in much more detail in another post, but i do know of a particular method i would use to choose.
The creation process of that particular method, making it freely available to all humanity, would also likely be the way in which myself and others who choose to help, become billionaires, and therefore have the funds to donate!
I would personally choose to put a cap on the amount i and others could personally benefit, for example a maximum of 1 million each, thus helping to ensure the other 999 million (ninja mined) is used altruistically.

What would YOU do with a Billion Dollars (or equivalent)?
Before you answer that, just for the moment take it for granted thee is a way you can become a billionaire, or at least a multi-millionaire (I'll suggest a way for you later). Then let your imagination run free.

I would set up an endowment responsible for investing $500 Million. I'd keep $500 Million. With an endowment, I could continue to support causes indefinitely without running out of money. It may even grow. Even a modest investment return on that much is considerable. The amount I would keep would be to ensure that I couldn't spend it fast enough without being ridiculous.
I agree with @trumpman. I would travel, although it wouldn't need to be a different place every night. For example, if I were in Peru, I would like to spend time exploring museums and cultural events there before going of to a new destination.
One thing that having that much money allows you to do is to acquire citizenship in other countries easily. I would do that.
I would also have well-paid staff to help me achieve whatever project I have going on. It might seem selfish to have a nice home and employees. But, this is a way to provide for others via wages and taxes without simply giving away money. There is dignity in work that simply being given money does not provide.
In some ways, it would not be too different from retirement, except on a larger scale.

I wouldn't even bother with luggage. Maybe a backpack. It's pointless to carry stuff when you could easily fly back home.
