i like privacy coins, mainly because they reduce our support of violence.
Litecoin has introduced a MimbleWimble extension block, which runs as a sidechain. It is optional to use, thereby likely to prolong LTC listings on Centralised exchanges (read - under government control at least to some extent, and therefore violent).
From reading the following article, although using LTC with MW is better, it's only a partial solution.
To address Litecoin's limited fungibility, the developers chose to integrate the Mimblewimble (MW) protocol as Extension Block (EB). MWEB can be viewed as a second chain that runs together with the main chain, similar to a multi-lane highway. Traffic on both lanes flows at exactly the same rate. It is possible to switch from one lane to the other at any time. One can either transact on the Litecoin main chain without ever having to switch to the MWEB or, conversely, one can stay on the MWEB. The MWEB is an opt-in system, the use is voluntary.
On the surface, MWEB is a real advance and selling point, but on closer inspection, MWEB cannot deliver what is promised. Optional anonymity is not real anonymity, because at the time when you switch from the main chain to MWEB, you are still identifiable and thus make yourself suspicious.

Honestly this is my first time when I learn about privacy coin. Heard a lot about litcoin though never earn or exchange it. thanks for sharing this with us.
You're welcome. If you don't want to fund wars (mass murder), and the many other ways government are violent toward the people they are supposed to serve, then privacy coins are the way forward (and buy them anonymously too).

Can a person start on MWEB? If so how is that not perfect anonymity?

Alright, it's all good, then. I'd say MWEB deserves a lot of credit. Litecoin is my favorite crypto, I only wonder what would happen when all the possible tokens have been mined because Litecoin is really close to that.
I own Litecoin. But I didn't know about this MW. And MWEB is it similar to L2 like a side chain. ETH has L1 and L2 to run as it's cheaper fees. I'm also looking into Zcash !
That is very interesting and I will take a closer look at this even I don't own much litecoins.
