Your money should buy you freedom plus influence

When I read this post, I laughed hard because it reminded me of two things. The first one is the favorite speech of our Former Governor, Gov. Godswill Obot Akpabio. He always says in his campaign speeches, "What money cannot solve, more can". The second one is a quote from my favorite artist, Ariana Grande, "Whoever said money can't solve your problems must not have had enough money to solve them". Thus, when @gbenga said,

When you are rich, all your problems go away". This is another lie that so many people who are poor or financially incapable believe. The truth is that money doesn't solve all problems, and the presence of money doesn't mean you wouldn't have any problem, rather money would only solve the money problem. Money Myths People Shared With Me as a Child.

Everyone is right depending on the scenario they find themselves in, money does solve problems, when it's a money problem, and doesn't solve the ones that aren't money problems. Either way, it's better to have money than to be poor. And the funniest thing is that those who are too rich have the same problem as those who are too poor. Both circles find life boring because they don't seem to know what to do with their money and what to do with no money respectively.

I don't know which one I believe, the only thing I know is that money creates a pack of influence, and should be allowed to flow without obstruction. The flow of money brings power, and it attracts power as a magnet attracts metals. Money therefore should be strategically used for such things as gaining power.

@gbenga did say, his dad told him if he spends less, he gets wealthy, and he disagrees because spending less only reduces money leaks. You know we have minimalist and frugality preaching everywhere, but would it help us live our best lives if we scratch our funds as church rats? Of course not.

Money was meant to be enjoyed, but, in the middle of enjoying, we shouldn't forget the long-term goal..... Freedom. This is the major reason, we have to look for multiple ways by which we can generate wealth, the end product is always about freedom.

For most people, freedom means not having to work, for others, it revolves around being able to travel the world, the others might be seeking freedom so they can spend time with their children. But do you know that most people never get around to living this freedom-influenced lifestyle they wanted? And no, it's not because they don't have the money.

I'll tell you how, they did want freedom, but, lifestyle inflation took over their nature. They go out there and buy the biggest houses, cars, and accessories that require lots of time to take care of. Their intention to live without working is abused because they have to spend time working on the paperwork for their houses, furnishing, and making sure the furniture and interior decorations are up to standard.

Soon, they want to buy cars to match their houses so the cars can be kept in the beautiful garage that accompanied the house. Before you know it, they are buying clothes and accessories to match the cars, so they can look as affluent as possible whenever they step out of their cars in public.

It takes time to put these together, and the purpose for which they wanted to be rich has been defeated. When people look at them, they admire their cars, houses, and affluent living, and not them. The respect or power they hoped to gain isn't there anymore because everyone is looking at the objects they spend on and not them.

Racing down to the conclusion, what money should buy isn't all the objects we fill our lives with, it should be people, respect, and freedom. You have should be able to create a circle of influence, a support base that will generate more for you than you would ever spend. It doesn't matter how much money you have, what you need to learn is how to use money strategically in your favor.

I get that money can help in giving freedom. But doesn't social connection do the same?
