MY DECISION TO SAVE MY HBD FOR THE NEXT COUPLE MONTHS.

in LeoFinance2 years ago

Hey y’all, been MIA for a few days but the weekend brought me back, I hope you’re having a good one.
I’ve decided to do more saving than withdrawals of my Hive Backed Dollars(HBD).
You know how everyone at some point in their live decides to take their finances more seriously? Well that’s been me since the beginning of the year. I’ve been feeling like I need to get my life together: finances, emotion, self care, friendships etc. I’m at the point where I feel like I’ve already grown, a change has happened but I just need to manifest it.

Well, I decided to start with my finances because as I’ve shared in my previous posts, it’s not something I’ve always been invested in, mostly because I’ve very never had to reply much on myself but the time is right.
Earlier today I saw a picture where someone froze their credit cards because they were learning self discipline, well, that should have been me many years ago. The only downside is the ice will still melt eventually and I’ll start swipping with reckless abandon.

I used to behave like an idiot when it came to spending money, my spending habit used to have me and the persons around me worried. I remember my friend advising me to stop going out because that’s how I waste money on both necessary and unnecessary things, maybe she forgot online shopping was a thing because I can legit sit in my house and purchase about anything I want.

This piece you’re reading is brought to you by someone who have squandered funds allocated for serious issues like rent and school fees. I’m not proud but it is what it is.
Anyhoos, that girl is way behind me now because life has gotten a lot more serious now. I can’t afford to be making stupid decisions involving my finances anymore because they always come back to hunt me. I used to tell myself that I’ll find a way to fix it because if I spent less time causing problems for myself then I won’t have to worry about fixing them.

The point of this is I’ve decided to be saving at least fifty percent of my payouts, and sometimes I’ll do hundred percent. This is both a financial disciplinary exercise and an excellent saving opportunity. The savings option on hive wallet is both thoughtful and beneficial to the users and the blockchain as a whole.

I’m sure it’s no longer news that transferring your HBD to your savings entities you to 20% Annual Profit Yield. It isn’t exactly a big deal for someone like me who only has about 20 dollars in my savings but having one dollar extra to money you saved overtime on hive is not nothing as opposed to maybe leaving it in a regular bank and having nothing.

Also, the point of saving my HBD is also to help me reduce my impulsive spending habit. I mean, if you saw me expend money you’d think I have a whole limitless stash somewhere in the present and future. I could decide to just leave my HBD in my wallet and not make any withdrawals but I know that’s not enough, the three days waiting period for withdrawal from my savings is enough to discourage me from trying. Baby steps.

It's a good thing you're now taking this into consideration. I believe you will thank yourself for taking this action eventually.

Yes, it is. I’m looking forward to the improvement this will add to my life.
Thank you for reading.

The benefits is definitely going to be massive. You're welcome as well.

Make that bold step. Start gradually by dropping every penny you can let go, and boom!!

Yes, I intend to. Writing about it is easier than actually doing it but I’m determined to.

Thank you Maxwell.

It's a good one in one sense that doesn't involve savings, when scrimp and scrounge you'd feel good when you spend because for many they simple can't spend.
The mind subconsciously bring up the most vital needs and wants simultaneously.

Baby steps, right.
Watch your next move...

You’re right. spending itself is inevitable and it feels good to be able to afford the things I need and want. I just know there are necessary actions I need to take now to help me spend better in the future and not have to worry too much about it because affordability is not longer an issue.

I’ll be watching my next move. Lol.
Thank you for dropping by.

Such a great plan. You can do it…
Little baby steps 😉
