If we compare the growth of crypto with the growth of the internet since the nineties, we are still in the nineties. Even though the crypto user count surpassed 100 million in the third quarter of 2020, the percentage of people using crypto is still less than 3% of the current world population which is almost 8 billion. To put it in perspective, I decided to create a little line chart which you are seeing below.
According to this Binance index, in the third quarter of 2020, there were about 100 million crypto users worldwide. Let's say that data is lagging behind and the real number is twice as big and has reached 200 million as of February 2021. The current population of the world is almost 8 billion. If we do some calculations like this:
200 million / 8 billion x 100% = 2.5% of the world's population are crypto users.
If we are to compare crypto growth with the growth of the internet since the nineties, we are in in-between 1998 and 1998 where the number of internet users grew from 1.7% to 3.6% of the world's population.

Since then, it has continued to grow exponentially. Here's the data to check it yourself:

You can see that I skipped some 8 years or else this screenshot would be too long. Starting from 2017th, more than half of the world's population were using the internet and in 2020, the percentage has increased to almost two-thirds of the world's population. I guess 2021 will be the year where we surpass the 66% mark.
The growth of the internet
If we look at the growth of the Internet itself, we can see that the number of sites increased more than 400% from 1999 to 2000. It kinda goes hand to hand with all the DeFi craze and the number of crypto projects appearing out of nowhere. This rapid expansion is getting more and more people to join crypto and start learning about this stuff.

The growth of crypto
If the crypto industry grows at a pace similar to the growth of the internet, not only will we go to the moon but we'll reach other galaxies. Maybe they have crypto of their own there. What I wanted to say today was that we are all still very early in the crypto game. If you're not - join up and start building your future. I started my Leo journey with no investments. If I can do it, you can do it! The crypto industry es getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. The sooner you join, the bigger your gains! But don't buy the top - you should never buy the top. Unless you're willing to wait. Those who bought Bitcoin at the top in 2018 and didn't sell are now in profit. Those who had weak hands are now biting their fingernails.

You're spot on! We are still many years away from mass adoption and the full implementation and appreciation of crypto currency. So for those who are still second-guessing, they should rest assured that there is still time for growth. I am also building my Leo stake. I know this has the potential of growing exponentially.

What a smart look at the growth of cryptos. Sometimes I think people are just too focused on technical analysis, speculating on each other. I've been using email since 1992 and websites since 1995.
The Australian Legal Information Institute has been publishing Australian laws and cases online since July 1995 and I went to the University which established it.
I've been in crypto since early 2017 so I am a bit late by my standards but you are right that its still very early.
Ahhh 1998, I was watching over my cousin shoulder when he was downloading songs with a modem 56k using Napster (if I remember correctly). Good memories
