I always felt that the bus transportation corporation in my city needed a big upgrade. This is not just about getting converted to a green solution or not. But in general, the transportation was not very great and it was also one of the facilities offered by the government that was not running with a great profit. I was glad to recently learn that our MTC launched buses that are electric, and they have a good range of about 200 kms per charge. This is a huge step towards the green revolution because it becomes a great advantage in all respects.
I have seen buses operated by many big companies that are fully electric. Those company buses would be the starting point, I believe, and I'm glad that the government is also exploring and adapting to this. I wish the same happens in other states in India too, where electric commute is promoted more compared to the regular diesel engine buses. This is not only good for the ecosystem, but I think it is also cost-effective for the government too. It can indeed take a lot of time for the government to completely switch, but this transition that has already happened is a great thing, I would say, and I'm happy that they are slowly exploring.
There are many features available in these electric buses, making them unique from the regular buses. Some of these features include:
- Air conditioning
- Mobile charging ports
- CCTV camera
- Seat belts
I did not have a chance yet to travel on these busses. My need to travel in a government bus itself is very limited, and I usually have my own transportation.
Advantage in improving public transport
The need for travel is never going to go down. People will continue to travel more and more, and when more people come and settle in metro cities, the need for travel will also increase, and traffic will also increase. Improving the public transportation system will make sure people choose the public transportation system instead of using their own vehicles. Today, the culture is such a way that for a single person to travel to their office, they use a 7-seater vehicle and not even a compact car. If the government can provide a sophisticated transportation system, then there is a high chance that people will pick public transport instead of their own vehicles and greatly reduce the traffic in roads. Metro trains are also doing the same thing right now, and new routes are also being covered by metro trains these days. Construction is still in progress.

electric vehicles are the present and future, as long as batteries issues are fixed and driving ranges improved.
Wow that's a very big step into the future.
That's how development improves, step by step.
I wish my country could take note because yesterday the bus I took was so comparted that the door couldn't be closed and a lady almost fell off. I couldn't even breathe well and started feeling sick.
That's why in my country everyone is going for getting their own vehicles.
Just as you said. If they could make public transportation better and affordable many people would public transportation over private vehicles.
This is a positive step towards sustainable and efficient public transport. Electric buses with modern features can truly transform urban commuting, reduce pollution, and ease traffic congestion. Hope to see more cities adopting similar innovations!
I am wondering how the electric bus works actually
