Link between autoimmune diseases and microplastics

in LeoFinance22 days ago

It appears that there is no proper proof established for this, but something makes me think that there could be a link between autoimmune diseases and microplastics. Today, the number of people having autoimmune diseases is increasing. There is no proper explanation that tells us the cause of this. It is an unexplained condition where our own immune system tries to attack our own body and does damage. Sometimes, if we don't address the issue, the damage done may not even be reversed. Today, many popular celebrities are also suffering from unexplained autoimmune diseases. They find it very hard to get back to their regular lifestyle.

Steroid medication is the only way to keep this auto-attacking in control. Our own antibodies try to attack the healthy cells and tissues, thinking that there is a problem. Today, no concrete research has been made explaining why this happens. My mother recently got admitted for a sudden spike in her Rheumatoid arthritis condition. This is when I started reading more about autoimmune diseases. They say there is no explanation on why it happens, and at the same time, there is also no single cure for this. The only medication is to keep it under control and just manage it throughout life.

The unexplained mystery

I hope soon someone finds an answer to this unexplained mystery soon. There are research works going on trying to find answers, but we don't have any concrete answers yet. I tried to reach out to Google to understand if microplastics would be a reason for this, as we are consuming a lot of microplastics by mistake. Sometimes these microplastics can stay in the tissues of our body, creating unexplained inflammations. Our own antibodies try to attack them by mistake. This is just a theory, and we still don't have concrete proof of this finding yet.

Overall, we know that microplastics are very bad for our health. In the future, there might be a situation where people might die for unknown reasons and undiagnosed reasons, and my feeling says that silently, microplastics can be the reason for that and it will be unexplainable in the clinical results. One fine day, someone might find some concrete proof to explain and evaluate. Who knows, they might even come up with a test that shows non-biodegradable foreign materials like microplastics in our body and find a way to remove them and make people healthy again.

I have serious auto-immune conditions related to a gene called HLA-B27. Over my life they have got worse and worse. People with my set of conditions have a mean life expectancy of 10 years less than the mean. I'm going to live a lot less than that as mine kicked in early and my inflammation has become so bad it causes seizures.

Rheumatoid arthritis is linked to HLA-DRB1 and there is increased risk with other factors - PTPN22 and STAT4.

It's possible that microplastics are one potential trigger of auto-immune diseases. Various viruses and bacteria can trigger it. - several types of flu - H1N1 (bird flu), Covid - when people talk about long Covid and the overwhelming exhaustion and brain fog they are the primary symptoms of many auto-immune conditions.

I originally trained in physiology (neurophysiology to be precise) and I have put in a lot of private study into this. The gut biome is definitely involved as probiotics reduce inflammation. The natural probiotic that I have had the most success with is Kefir as it contains the greatest variety of bacteria, it's good to take others as they provide even more variety.

I have also looked at the timeline and when this type of condition started getting more and more prevalent. My conclusion is that antibiotics are almost certainly contributive factor. They can totally kill off the biome in your gut and freak it out. The fact that antibiotics are given to farmed animals on pretty much a permanent basis means that antibiotics are in pretty much all meat which means there is no avoiding it if you are a meat eater or live around farmed animals.

Vegetable oils are possibly another factor as they can mess with the biome too. They are a modern development and have caused the omega6:omega3 ratio to scoot up to 30:1 when it should be 1:1. That causes serious imbalances in the biome. That means being a vegan doesn't help either.

When things get really bad I go on a long fast - 3 days minimum, up to 2 weeks. Re-introduce food gently starting with kefir and other fermented stuff first. The first few days are hard but you actually start to feel healthy after that. The fast must be zero food otherwise you can never reach the repair phase where your body burns fat.

Another thing that helps is gardening, especially getting on all fours and doing weeding by hand. I get lots of cuts and scratches and it gives my immune system something to do rather than attack me.

Some types of plastic do mess with the biome whereas others are hormone disruptors so microplastics probably do add to the problem.

Try your mother out on some kefir before thinking about a fast as fasts can be risky. Lot's of omega 3 too.

Thanks for a great explanation. My mother used to fast even before this condition but not intermittent fasting. But I'll keep your other facts in mind. Science is advancing so much today. Hope we get a solution to this soon. I wish you good health.

Thanks I need it! :D

I don't doubt it. We are walking receptacles of micro plastics!

True!
I think the amount of micro plastics, including the ones we take in, the ones we don't, and the ones we aren't even aware of is much.
And such amount in our system is bound to be a factor of these unknown illnesses

This is a powerful and deeply personal post. I'm sorry to hear about your mother's recent struggle, and it's completely understandable that it led you down this path of research. The potential link to microplastics is a frightening but important thought. It feels like we're only just beginning to understand the long-term impact of these materials on our bodies. Thank you for sharing.

not only this, also problems like ADHD are increasing and who knows if it's not due to microplastics?

That’s a really interesting point. Autoimmune diseases are increasing so fast, and it makes sense to look at things like microplastics as a possible cause. Even if it’s not fully proven yet, more research in this area feels very important for our health and future.

It is absolutely true that I have also heard in the news that what happens to the body in this way is fatigue and tension remains, and I have seen this kind of illness in some other people as well.

We as a human somehow would vanished by our own discoveries, from micro plastic to war technology development.
I hope that we can find the solution for this plastic issue before its far too late.

Your thoughts on the possible link between autoimmune diseases and microplastics are really important. Although there is no scientific evidence yet, it cannot be denied that microplastic particles entering the body from the environment can cause various long-term harm. Hopefully, we will find a solution to this in the future.

The potential unseen links between microplastics and autoimmune diseases cannot be overemphasized.

While definitive evidence is still lacking, the growing concerns about environmental pollutants affecting our health deserve urgent attention.

It’s a call to prioritize research that could unlock answers and pave the way for preventive measures as our health and future depend on it.

With this information,I actually think the health sector should do something about it
