We have heard the harmful effects of Microplastics and I write lots of articles on this topic. There are also medical evidences that microplastics are affecting human beings and have been a reason for unknown health issues. Not just human beings but Microplastics also affect other living species in the planet. Starting from other living creatures to even Corels this has been a big pain and we still don't have a full solution to get rid of Microplastics or properly decompose them.
Plastic problem is globally available and it is affecting both land as well as water bodies. Corel reefs find it very hard to reproduce because of the microplastic pollution happening in the oceans. It is true that if we try to digest plastics, it will not digest in our body. If we don't take it out of the system, we might end up having cancer and other problems. Similarly plastics in the environment is also creating problems. Recent study found out that even plant tissues have microplastics in them if they are in a place where there is too much of plastic contamination.
Ocean floors getting wiped off
Ocean floors are fully poluted with lots of plastic materials. The waste materials dumped in the ground some how reaches ocean floors and it breaks down into smaller particles. They don't completely disappear or break down but instead they break down to smaller plastic particles and ultimately contaminate the ocean floor. All the beautiful ocean floors are disappearing these days because of factory farming in the coastal region and the other reason is because of the contamination by plastic waste in the ocean floors. There is a reference articles towards the bottom of this article that explains this problem in a more detailed manner.
Microplastics is a big pain
Some people belive that plastics are good and it is a great innovation. Though it is true that it is a great innovation and after it was invented it turned the world upside down but the biggest mistake is that we did not find a way to get rid of them properly. It is like finding the biggest venom in the world but without an antidode. There are still people who believe that plastics are not creating any problem and they are good for the environment. It is hard to explain things to them but they will gradually know when they see some things that are evident through micro and nano plastics.

I didn't know microplastics affects corals... There are so many that at this point can they even survive even if we stop right now to use them?
I am a human too but i really angry if seeing people throwing trash everywhere.
I dont know what are they thinking
Or they dont have brain at all and cannot see the effect of throwing trash everywhere

Wow as this is the first time I will be learning about micro plastic affecting the corals. New knowledge every day. Thank you so much for sharing
