The reasons I'm thinking about growing mushrooms.

Every story, every thought, should, in theory, have its own backstory, and as they say, there are no coincidences in life. Therefore, I must say that before I even thought about growing mushrooms and studying the subject, I was an avid mushroom hunter.

From a young age, I picked mushrooms with my father, and later, I went into the forest on my own.

Over those years, I acquired a wealth of skills and knowledge in this field, learning to distinguish which mushrooms are edible, conditionally edible, and which are poisonous.

Looking at the calendar, I knew when and where to go mushroom picking; mushrooms are not seasonal in my homeland.

Of course, I also learned many recipes.

But, you know, the thrill of fishing is one thing, and the opportunity to enjoy mushrooms at any time of year by growing them is quite another. I decided to learn as much as I could about this.

First, I noticed the champignons because I often bought them and cooked them, both fried and grilled on skewers, as a complement to meat and vegetables. Marinated champignons are simply delicious, lol.

Oh, and I almost forgot, stuffed champignon pancakes are simply delicious!

I'm starting to see this as a substitute or complement to meat, because by growing and selling some mushrooms, you can always buy chicken or other meat, and growing mushrooms is less expensive than fattening up broiler chickens or a pig.

Although, it's not absolutely necessary, and mushroom soup is no less delicious than meat soup.

But, most importantly, after assessing the conditions and space I have, I realize it would be much easier to grow oyster mushrooms than champignons.

Oyster mushrooms used to be less popular than champignons, but now they're more expensive on the market, and the cost of growing them is significantly lower.

Until now, I've never bought oyster mushrooms in stores, although I'd occasionally bring them home from the forest. I didn't emphasize their flavor, as back then, I'd bring a variety of mushrooms, and it was a mixed bag. I'll have to buy some and try them... but even without that, growing them seems very appealing to me.
