That is an interesting scope that I never thought HIVE can offer. But it makes sense, use it to authenticate in any 3rd party applications if you are on Hive.
Hive moving with the described changed in the business layer might transform this blockchain as we've been waiting for so long time. Smart contract, smart media tokens at blockchain base layer should facilitate new applications to be developed on top of it.

Smart contracts and SMTs are two different things. Smart contracts will likely make SMTs not needed. Token creation can take place at the second layer, just like on Hive Engine. They will be more robust than SMTs were designed simply because the contracts can be programmed to be whatever the developers want.
