Creating a curation economy

It might sound like a pipe dream now but one day, I think it will be a thing. For what it's worth, there are already people making a decent living from curation on Hive but in the general scheme of things, it's only a few and hasn't matured enough to be regarded as an economy.

The idea of earning from simply "liking" content is one of the biggest selling points of Hive. However, this kind of earning potential exists in platforms like Publish0x, Steem, and a bunch of other platforms as well.

As web 3 platforms continue to gain mainstream popularity, I suspect that we'll be seeing even more people take interest in this type of earning. Imagine onboarding half the population of Youtube to Web 3 platforms like our own.

It's Huge

Just the thought of it sends shivers down my spine. Naturally, everyone reading this right now will be an early adopter and you'd all most likely be super rich by then.

The point of this post isn't solely about the money, but about the potential of creating a mega-network that accommodates the masses that are stuck in web 2 platforms. The network and ripple effect it will have would ultimately encapsulate the world in a curation frenzy.

As the world continues to evolve and more people find ways to earn from the confines of their homes, the idea of a curation economy will continue to be perpetuated.

For example, on traditional platforms like Twitter and Instagram, people buy followers and bot accounts to "like" their posts. Those fake likes don't directly translate to earning but it gives the impression that many people approve and that could invariably lead to more traffic and more sales.

In Web 3 platforms where every user holds s stake in the platform, liking will be a bit more serious and people will have to invest in it.

What would it cost?

At a time when Hive and many other social Dapps have relatively low value, what would you say is the value of "likes"? What will the value of "likes" be when we 10X from our current position?

Also, if people are willing to pay for fake likes, what would they pay for actual likes that translate to some form of earning? How will the network effect perpetuate these earnings as we continue to grow?

There are a lot of questions with underlying excitement about the future. What I can say for sure is that as time goes on, the number of people who sit at home and earn from curation will continue to rise.

The Universe or is it Metaverse?

The world as we know it is going digital and it's evolving fast. This also means we're all getting lazier and would rather just stay at home and earn from likes.

In the next ten to fifteen years, the internet will be filled with tons of ways to earn from curation. When that comes around, we'll have ourselves a full-fledged curation economy.

Right now, I earn from likes and so do you, but we're still a minority. Many people don't fully grasp how it works and how it was created but we kind of do.

In the future, curation will be a source of employment and it'll be too loud to ignore. The curation economy will create entrepreneurs that literally sit at home, watch or read fun stuff and earn. At that point, the only problem will be working on our fitness because we sit on our asses all day.

Thats why we need that million hive powered up! :P

You know it. Soon we'll get there.

Ye. I will properly just start to power up all of my hive. I don't see any new dividend tokens to buy into.
Utopis would be the only one I would continue to buy at this I think :D

Right now, I'm waiting for Hive to dump properly, so I'll just buy back with my HBD and usdt in exchange. By the time the dust settles, I'll have like 10k HP.

Also, Sps is paying every day, from when the bear market starts by January next year, I'll start buying Hive.

How are you profitting off of that? You sell HBD on a Exchange when Hive is at a certain price or what?

Ye well, sps is neat, but I only have 20 staked, so I don't really earn anything x)

I am working on getting 1k Cubs, I am almost there but 276 bLeo got stuck in the bridge and haven't got them back yet, but the Leo team is working it x)

Oh I just wait for Hive to drop very low and then I use that converter on PEAKD to exchange HBD to Hive.

The HBD is treated as $1 in the conversion.

SPS is going to be my golden goose. Already have 3k staked so far. My target is 10k by end of year but that's only if SPS doesn't go on a bullrun.

If sps pumps, I'll sell some that I'm keeping liquid. I also intend to hold at least 2k sps liquid, just in case it pumps.

Sorry About the Leo, hope it gets sorted out. The price if Leo keeps going down. I'll eventually power up a shit ton of Leo as well. Gotta keep stacking

Okay, so when the HBD is under 1$ its worth to convert it back that way?
I know when to convert Hive to HBD.

3K is pretty good, thats a decent amount of money :D How much are you earning pr day?
Understandable you have some liquids just in case :D

Ye, its not really a problem. It will get sorted out at some point, they are just taking their sweet time x)

Or some of the tribe tokens. If a couple of them break out, it could be a similar result for people.

Leofinance is working on some things that could really take their token value to the next level. We will see if some of the H-E tokens truly break out also.

Ye true.
I have a "lot" of different tokens which I just stake or delegate to Brofi :D

Sitting at home to earn a curation reward is good but is good to have work you are doing, so that you will take your curation money as a part time money.

It depends. Assuming you earn enough to cover all your bills and extra to save or reinvest, it's safe to say curation is a job

Depends on the job, you are working

There is so much here.

We are seeing people with the ability to change lives with a single upvote. How would it feel to be able to give a $100 upvote to someone, especially from a poorer nation?

Yes many are going to be able to "make a living" off curation. On Hive the fact that we have tribes and, ultimately, might be the destination for communities to be built could really take the Proof of brain concept to a much higher level.

The key is for people to keep building their stake, in both HIVE and other tokens. Then the PoB can really help them to reach what you describe.

on traditional platforms like Twitter and Instagram, people buy followers and bot accounts to "like" their posts.

How do they do this?

This is why holding Hive stake is so important as when the masses arrive it is too late. many don't understand that when the masses are here earnings should drop as the reward pool is shard out that much more as it stays the same size no matter how many people are here. The earning potential is on curation and why staking now is more important than ever. The Hive users who have stake will be guaranteed an income and that will depend on how much by the Hive token price.

I think this is a good point, in the same way that people have the willpower to create content (those that do it and add value) and generate wealth while making decisions, such as making an investment, interacting in a blog, creating videos..etc, there will continue to be those lazy people who prefer to focus 24/7 in a room to play a video game or simply be active on social networks or doing what I have previously mentioned regardless of their health status. It is up to you to improve your health and physique to feel better tomorrow and even when you are older. Few people reflect or are aware of these life factors when they are young (not everything is in a computer or at parties), this behavior is completely normal due to the society in which we live and because we believe that when we are young we will be infinite because of that. great source of energy, ego or superiority that makes us feel invincible, but no, knock knock, who is it? the time that never stops and therefore our years also pass. In the future, curation will be a source of employment

I know we'll be seeing Curation Professionals writing books, speaking on stages, and selling courses in the next few years.

I've seen a few folks like yourself and @threesteps posting about the financial opportunities in curation and tagging. As a relative newcomer to HIVE, I find these concept fascinating. Thanks for adding to my knowledge base. !LUV
