or $myhostname, which defaults to the name of the machine. Unless you are running a really small site, you probably want to change that into $mydomain, which defaults to the parent domain of the machine name. And you get sentences like that, in other words, and maybe that made sense to you. It does make sense to me, but I remember a day when that didn't make sense to me. Like, I read it, I kinda understood, like, the gist, but like, what are they talking about? Especially phrases like, the default is to use the local machine name, which defaults to the name of the machine.
