which I guess you could argue that maybe it had some elements of Linux in there, but they wanted to develop their own operating system. And in 2016, they stopped. And that's kind of unfortunate in some ways. I mean, who needs another operating system, right? But they said that about Windows when it first came around. And look where it is today. But Firefox OS, that's from the Mozilla Foundation, the same folks that do Firefox, the browser and the operating system. They started to develop and it was an operating system that was for not just desktops, but specifically for phones as well. At least that was the intent. And in 2016, they announced they would be the operating system that would be in the Panasonic Ultra High Definition TVs as the embedded operating system. But later that same year in about September, they announced that they had ceased developing Firefox OS and all its related code was going to be removed from the Mozilla site.
