Oh, time to move BNB Staking...

Oh, time to move BNB Staking... .jpg

I don't really follow the BSC/BC ecosystem that much... there does seem to be quite a lot of things going on, but it isn't the sort of thing that interests me... much of it does seem to be a bit derivative of what happens in Ethereum and it was interesting for a while as a cheaper variant of the EVM. However, now it really does seem to operate more like an interesting and well financed sidechain instead of like a true alternative.

Anyway, when I had removed my BNB tokens from Binance when Australia lost access to Launchpads and Launchpools. From that moment, there was no real utility to BNB for me on the CEX aside from fee reduction. I couldn't even access Earn products for just simple interest.

So, I had moved everything back on-chain to the Binance Beacon Chain... just to stake with validators to continue picking up some sort of rewards for holding the bloody tokens!

However, something that wasn't apparent when I moved the tokens on-chain and staked them was the fact that the Beacon Chain was going to be sunset... and very soon as well! It appears that from April, the delegators and delegation functions would be moved to Binance Smart Chain instead... and I don't think that the Beacon Chain DEX has really seen much traction since the launch of the Smart Chain proper.

So, apparently there will be some sort migration of delegators onto the Smart Chain... but at the moment, I don't see any easy way to stake there... I assume that it isn't quite ready to go live yet. However, it does mean that I will need to unstake my BNB again... and move them back to Binance. Sadly, there aren't other CEXs taking in BEP2 BNB deposits. I would have parked the tokens on those instead if that was possible... as I still can access Earn products through those at a lower interest rate than the on-chain Staking rewards.

So, parking back on Binance until there is some clarity with the delegations on the Binance Smart Chain. Although, I'm sort of tempted to explore DeFi options instead... but I'm so out of touch with the BSC ecosystem that I just don't know where to go and what to trust.
