RE: LeoThread 2023-08-12 17:01

If leofinance goes into a name change just think all that backlinking work is going to get destroyed. If anything I hope the new name is threads only with it's own token and doesn't pull a hive vote. That would be a dream come true.

It's not if, but when and yeah, I didn't think of the backlinks. We were told all older content would be evergreened and this may create an issue. Of course, as long as the new site indexes it with the new url it should be all good.

It would lose its link juice value sadly just because of the swap. Plus the entire linking structure is already jacked and redirects lol

Interesting thought, would you be worried that the Hive would suffer unlinking the system?

It would still run on the hive blockchain it's just when you vote on a thread it would use the threads native token (Supported by ad revenue to give it value) and not hive. Instead hive/leo would be still article focused as it has been.

I could be down with this type of system. I just know if we continue to spread funds between layer tokens it gets hard to get people to buy the base layers and price appreciation get more diffcult if we can't get more users on the chain.

Then LEO could be used on that front end as well so no new token needed however when voting it wouldn't use hive power vote unless you set it to. I really hate chewing through my hive power on threads.

As for the backlinks, there are only a couple hundred thousand so not a huge deal. Plus can do a redirect for the URL

Not the path. Threads is part of Leo and not going to follow the Project Blank which was laid out. Supporting another token value is difficult.

Interesting things to think about. Own token would put a twist on things too. hmm.. 🐸

Hmmm... I'm sure they'll figure thing out.
