What Will It Take To Bring Us From Web2.0 to Web3.0?
A shift is taking place however for many people the course of the next few years will be a blur to them only to wake up to a new reality when old web2.0 is dead and they are sitting there wondering what happened.
In just my life time alone I have see the dawn of AOL the first ever world wide web to really take foot and since then I've fallen in love with it all! From there I witnessed the dawn of social media to what we have today as a nearly fully integrated system in every aspect of life.
Why?
For many reasons...
- The power
- The possibilities
- Time saving
- and so much more
Nearly everything we now do in life in some way connects online and it's only growing and advancing.
What Is Web 3.0
Web 3.0 is a blurred vision for many. It can mean any number of things to any number of people. In general what it is, is a major shift on of how things currently operate.
If you ask tech savvy people web 3.0 is already here. It's the semantic web of which massive amounts of metadata are used on websites to create unique experiences to that person. Pretty sure we are already there if you look at web 3.0 that way.
What Web 3.0 is to me
To me Web 3.0 is the evolution of blockchain into every aspect of the interest. A hybrid system that creates more decentralized systems and rewards content creators instead of a platform that takes advantage of content creators and profits off of them. Without content creators there wouldn't be posts, memes, live streams etc. But these companies take MASSIVE cuts or simply offer these content creators NOTHING besides a slap in the face if they do something they don't agree with.
To me web 3.0 is a shift from old mega corp platforms to a more hybrid, more evenly shared content system where
What Will It Take?
This shift will not happen over night but what is going to create that shift is community. Just like Facebook came to be through creating an easy platform to connect with family and friends easily we need to do the same but on a more epic scale.
Hive for example has communities, a place to post and be rewarded for that content and a place to connect with like minded people. Be it movies and TV through CHINE, Playing Play to earn games like Splinterlands and one.Up these are the types of platforms that will start to pave the way for what I envision the real web 3.0 transition is.
I also believe part of that will come from content creators themselves. In fact I've already invited a few content creators over here on hive that currently use 3Speak, Hive, LeoFinance, Splinterlands(Splintertalk) and NFTShowRoom. I do this through my main business in which is almost all outsourced so I can focus here on Hive and blockchain for the rest of my days :)
Web 3.0 currently lives in Hive Get Paid For Your Content and a number of other platforms. Let's make this thing GROW and show people the real possibilities!
