Why I Spend More Time On LeoThreads

LeoThreads continues to be one of the places I find myself spending more and more time on. While yes the initial version of LeoThreads was rough you have to understand that it's in Beta or really Alpha stages in terms of development.

The flip side of that is development on this project is happening fast! It's also happening with continued feedback from the people using it. Khal often drops in a thread post asking for feedback from the community.

What Is LeoThreads

For those of you who don't know already leoThreads is a way to interact with others on the Hive blockchain through a Twitter like microblogging platforms. It has a maximum of 240 characters that can be used and

What's Improved

Since the launch of LeoThreads one of the biggest things that troubled me was the fluidness of comments and being able to see them. I often found myself seeing a comment on a thread and then opening it up trying to find it. Either a slow load time happened or someone commented outside of the threads format(which by the way will not show up within LeoThreads so be sure you're always interacting with LeoThreads via the LeoFinance site)

The comment section has updated a lot in terms of how fluid it is. The long delays are gone and if there is a bit of a delay in loading you'll get a loading type block so you can better understand that something is loading. However I hardly ever see this now.

I've also noticed when commenting back to someone that my comment now displays which wasn't the case before. These quality of life improvements are really are shaping LeoThreads into a twitter alternative. With more work I see it being better, more fluid, more powerful and more importantly more rewarding to content creators which to me is the ultimate vision of #web3 to restore the power back into the hands of content creators and out of the hands of mega corps.

What Will Come

Profiles Your LeoFinance profile will get a bit of a update so when people click on your username from within LeoThreads a custom tab will open for their profile and show you newest to oldest threads they created and not blog posts (however you can still tab over to view their blog posts as well)

This is actully a super powerful way to start interacting with the Hive community members on a closer level and build a following. Quality content, genuine comments are going to net you good results over time.

Speed is going to be key with threads along with how fluid and easy it is to use. While I don't see all that much upvoting happening on threads there still will be some through curations via community members and the LeoFinance team. I myself jump in there and drop anywhere between 20-50 votes a day and most likely will increase this a bit.

Paving The Way

LeoThreads is the ultimate Beta platform for what will eventually become a standalone web3 application on the hive blockchain. It will most likely have it's own native token and very possibly be airdropped to LEO powered up hodlers as a reward for believing in the platform. When this happens my hopes are that Hive voting power will not be used. (of course resource credits will be used on the hive blockchain) but when voting it will only vote with the layer 2 token of that platform. If this is done I feel there will be a lot more upvoting happening across the platform as a whole and really do see it ballooning into it's own entity and be a drastic leap forward for the vision of web3.

If it's this good to start with, I can only imagine what it'll be like in a few years.

It has improved greatly, and I will love it to be able see what threads users have posted:)

The day will come when LeoThreads will go head to head with D.Buzz. Many people see D.Buzz as Hive's answer to Twitter, although I don't know how many are spinning the wheels of LeoThreads.

If anything, LeoThreads will be the microblogging platform of choice while the more-mature D.Buzz shifts to being the alternative to Instagram. I think both have their place even as microblogging platforms.
