Happy 3rd Birthday HIVE! ๐๐๐
Normally, I would make all my powerups on the 1st day of every month and take part in the communal Hive Power Up Day too. However, having seen the HivePowerBday Initiative by @theycallmedan, I've also decided to make an extra powerup on this extra special day to celebrate Hive's 3rd birthday!

Personally, it's been almost 1.5 years on HIVE for me. I remember first stepping into the HIVE ecosystem at the end of 2021 when it was at the height of the crypto boom. Even after downturn with the bear market, I'm still here. I guess I'm here to stay after all. I've joined some great communities over here and am really enjoying myself.
๐How it All Started๐
I came onto the Hive blockchain trying to set up an account for SPLINTERLANDS. Prior to this, I had just about ZERO knowledge and experience with any Blockchain. It was pretty confusing to me as a complete novice - much different from how the usual process of setting up an account to play any game goes. ๐ต
This led to me googling around, and of course, I stumbled onto all the Hive blogs with their guides. One thing lead to another and I somehow stumbled upon the guys from ๐Hive.Pizza๐ who were extremely helpful in answering all my queries and guiding me along. Shoutout to all PIZZA members. Just to put things into perspective. This was BEFORE I had participated in ANY power up days on HIVE.
In my VERY FIRST month before before I ever heard about Hive Power Up Day/Month, I was at just 47 HP ๐ญ (Before Jan 1st 2022).
It took me almost 2 months before I discovered the Hive Powerup Days on the 1st of every month! ๐
Well, here goes my celebratory 10HP Hive Birthday Powerup! ๐โก๏ธ
Right now, at this point of time, my Hive power is past the 3.6k mark already! It's amazing what my constant powering up every single day has done (mostly through my daily posts). I have not ever powered down yet, nor do I intend to in the near future.

As always, I usually make just the minimum powerup of 10 HIVE. This is because there are so many projects that I'm now invested in. The HIVE ecosystem is so much bigger than what I had thought it was when I first joined. I believe my constant allocation of most of my daily posts being 100% powered up is sufficient to grow my Hive Power daily. The rest of any funds from HIVE will usually be kept for other projects that are of interest to me (on HIVE of course ๐).
Most recently this month, it has primarily been the General Sale of WOO LAND courtesy of BookerMan @wrestorgonline and his amazing team!
I already have 7 plots of land and I intend to build up my HIVE war chest to get quite a few more land packs in the weeks/months ahead. I see huge potential in WOO and I feel that land at these release prices will be a bargain once the game finally launches in Q3 of this year. ๐๐๐ค

Using https://hivestats.io/ , I was able to pull out a chart showing my daily account growth for the past month too. Great to see that orange graph head upwards continually ๐๐! If only my stocks portfolio and the price of HIVE looked like that too ๐๐ค.
As you can see, blogging on HIVE is the main reason for this growth, with the majority of my author rewards being channeled into my Hive Power AND with no power downs at all. (All thanks to my attempt to chase for the Hive Power Up Month badge ๐) The growing Hive Power accumulated also has the other effect of increasing my Curation Rewards. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Therefore, to anyone who is doubtful about the benefits of regular blogging and remaining invested in HIVE, I implore you to take a look at my stats and draw your own conclusions. ๐๐๐๐ป
๐๐๐My Long-Term Plan๐๐๐
Now clearly, I wouldn't just spend such an amount on just being able to write and reply in a community. HIVE as a token also has significant value and growth potential. This is the price chart for HIVE since it's inception. As all the HIVE regulars know, HIVE reached its ALL TIME HIGH earlier on in November 2021 at about $3.
Wow! This month isn't even over yet and already there have been multiple shell shocking events in the financial markets. First it was Silvergate Bank which went bust, and then Silicon Valley Bank, and then Silvergate Bank too! One would have thought these mid sized banks were the exception rather than the norm because of their exposure to crypto companies and tech companies in general, but in the past few days, the unthinkable happened!
One of the 30 banks worldwide regarded "Too Big to Fail", Credit Suisse, is no more! Bought over by rivals UBS for a paltry $2b or so, and not because they launched a hostile takeover, but more so because the Swiss government mandated it.
How the mighty have fallen. Needless to say, banking stocks, bonds, and the general financial markets have been roiled by these events.
Surprisingly (or not), BTC has gone from strength to strength in this crisis of confidence in the traditional banking system. Where it was all doom and gloom a few months back, BTC has hit a 9 month high of $28k! ๐๐๐ค Hive has also benefited and gone up since then, although it has a long way to go before recovering to it's heights. There was even the semi regular "Korean Pump" today which briefly brought the price of HIVE up to $0.53. It has since gone down to about $0.46.
This stable phase might not last and it doesn't necessarily indicate the end of the Bear yet though. There could still be several downward movements and price corrections before we see a full recovery and a new bull run all the way to a new ATH! ๐ฎ๐ ๐
I believe this is a good time to DCA and accumulate some crypto (or any other asset actually) while everything is at such low prices. It could get worse before it gets better (and it probably would too) but as they say, time in the market - not time the market. ๐
Hopefully it'll pay off one day.
(Obviously, these are just my own opinions too, so please don't take this as some financial advice. I'm definitely NOT any financial expert/advisor ๐ .)

I can see the potential in HIVE and am bullish on its future prospects. As they say, diamond hands and HODL ๐๐, I too intend to just hold onto my HIVE tokens and since I've no intention of cashing out anytime soon, what better way than to participate in HPUD and locking it all in.
Keeping my HIVE powered up as Hive Power also earns about 3% interest and gives me increased returns on my curation. From what I've seen, curation APR ranges anywhere from 4-12% depending on how efficient I am at curating. This sounds low especially in the crypto world, but it is still far superior to any bank interest rates. ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ
I hope to continue to powerup monthly in this community event whilst also growing my Hive stake. It would be most interesting indeed to chart my monthly progress this way too.
