Been pondering this a lot lately. It seems most people, likely the overwhelming majority, aren't prepared for what's coming. AI and robots could potentially take over 70-80% of jobs. When? Maybe in the next 20-30 years.

Reflecting on the last three decades, the level of change is astounding, and this may pale in comparison to the future. We're at a turning point now, on the brink of immense acceleration.

So, what happens when most people are unemployed? Universal Basic Income might be a solution. The elite won't want major unrest, recalling lessons from historical revolutions.

Interesting times ahead.

Absolutely agree... within a decade, robotics might replace farm and janitorial work, and disruptions are already affecting white-collar jobs. It's beneficial in some ways, but how do we prevent labor market turmoil from causing the kind of hardship seen when manufacturing left the rust belt in the 80's and 90's?
