Sadly, I think this happens far less than we would hope. I'm not complaining :), but it does feel like some of the bigger accounts have some other reason why they support who they do. I think it is one of those cases where "who you know" is more important than "what you know". I can't really complain about my rewards though, they are pretty decent built over close to a half decade of networking!

You're right, of course, who you know is a large part of it. No where can we see that more than on the front page of LeoFinance ;) But I think it's worthwhile being optimistic and believing that organic growth is possible. But maybe I just say that because in five years on Steemit/Hive, I've not been able to suck up to any of the big accounts enough to get their votes. haha.

I'm not even sure if sucking up is the answer. Been there, tried that and it also does not work. I really don't know what the solution is to the equation. It's a mystery that apparently only a select few know.
