That's the problem, if they know you aren't going to leave, they have zero incentive to pay you what they should. That is kind of where I am at right now. With so little time left before I retire, it is unlikely I am going to switch jobs. They know that, so why raise my pay to where it should be. It's frustrating. It's sad that decades of loyalty aren't as revered as they used to be.

Yep, this is the crux of it. Why pay more? Unless they are going to factor in the cost of backfilling.
We got a new superintendent and I have already been talking with him about what we need to do to make my salary right this year. We will see what happens come June.
