You would be surprised, but we see a lot of turnover in the school system here. For us the main reason is money though. We are a smaller school district and people usually leave for the bigger districts in the city. Like you said though, that comes with its own set of problems!

Yeah, it definitely depends on the industry too - IK am not sure what the churn on teachers is here, but all in all, the salaries aren't too bad for them.

Most of the teachers here are in the union so while the starting pay isn't great, if you can stick it out, you can pull in some decent money. I am not a teacher, nor am I in the union so it makes things a bit more difficult for me. For example a principal who is in charge of a single building makes 50% more than I do as the Technology Director for the whole district.
