Speaking of writing songs. There is a show on TV called Songland. It basically walks you through the process but they make a contest of it. It has been really enlightening. Especially to see that how a song starts out and the end product are often to completely different things!

I wish I was musical in some way, even if only to be able to sing. I am rubbish.
When it comes to song writing, a lot of them now are put through AI tests to see how they will perform in the markets... sad.
