"You're the owner of the bot so you are responsible for making sure that the bot is not exploited for abuse.
If commands are abuse, then please make sure that the code is updated to prevent it.
If the spam does not stop, then the bot and your account will be blacklisted for creating a rogue bot that is used by scammers and spammers."

Thoughts on this statement?

Sort:

Who's doing the blacklisting, and from what?

Otherwise, I think that as long as you're taking progressive actions to have the abusers stop, within a reasonable time frame, this is... understandable.

My coded added a blacklist to BBH bot. Someone(s) have no BBH and using to to flood other peoples comments with the bots reply that they don't have any BBH. So Hivewatcher got after me. Everything should be fine from here.
!BBH !DOOK

That's even sillier! It's a bit ridiculous to blame you for someone exploiting the bot this way.

Of course, HW's approach was to send threats rather than communicate like a normal human being. That's about as predictable as sunrise and sunset.

To my surprise they are communicating well with me. :)

Oh, and

Very nice! You've reached quite a significant phase in this project.

Honestly that message you posted from them isn't particularly sociable, especially if that's their initial response.
