good deal

Not sure where to put this, but a thread about a Finnish footballer seems as good as any:

Man, just some time ago saw him score in our "west coast derby", an excellent player and VPS, their team is on fire and the topic of the season!

There are a few Aussies playing in Finland at the moment.

We only have semi-pro 2nd tier (state leagues rather than national) and no pro/rel so opportunities are limited.

Cool to see Finland as a viable path.

Even though he is currently without a club, players do get visibility with HJK cos they get to play agains the big ones. David Browne scored a really beautiful goal against Mourinho's AS Roma but the damn VAR took it away.

Hadn't heard of Browne before.

Looks like he had been playing in the NZ league which is also semi-pro.

I do really love these alternate pathways!

Browne is a real quality player, hope he finds a club soon. I think he still has good years a head of him.

Also VAR is a cancer.

Literally ruined the emotion of football.

Agreed.

Yeah, Finland, especially HJK, can be a great path to reach some big European clubs. Last season they had David Browne who is from Pupua New Guinea. 👇
