Can Hive be censored and controlled?

Controlling the narrative has become a top priority worldwide. The unelected leaders of the EU are targeting social media platforms and search engines to censor information they dream illegal or misinformation, etc...

While blockchain social media traffic is a drop in the bucket compared to the Facebooks, TikTok's, and X's of the world:

In what ways can Hive be challenged?
Who should have control of what can or can not be posted on a website?
Will platforms require national ID's to verify and track users?

The same challenges and obstacles will face DeFi as well as we have seen with centralized exchanges the last few years. How will decentralized exchanges such as Bitshares survive?

The larger question is what is stopping the masses from utilizing the blockchain tools now available such as Hive? Is it simply the boiling frog symptom?

If you look up the github repos you'll find like DCMA takedowns, so there's legal means of taking down individual posts from front end sites.

There have also been historical steem forks which died, DPOS itself has risks which POW/POS cryptos don't have.
