Over the Reality (OVR) is a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) spatial computing platform that integrates augmented reality, virtual reality, and blockchain technology to create a decentralized 3D mapping ecosystem.
Launched in 2020 as an AR metaverse platform, OVR has evolved into a DePIN spatial computing network, leveraging its extensive 3D maps database to power applications in physical AI, visual positioning systems (VPS), and generative AR experiences.
In 2024, OVR introduced the integration of Apple Vision Pro, which has enhanced mixed-reality experiences, enabling AR/VR interactions and centimeter-precise robotic navigation.
By 2025, OVR had become a leader in spatial intelligence, with over 150,000 high-quality 3D maps created through its community-driven Map2Earn program.
The Map2Earn program launched in April 2025, and rewards users with $OVR tokens for contributing geospatial data via their smartphones, resulting in over 83TB of data and 75 million images mapped.
The OVR token currently has contracts on Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Binance Smart Chain, and (most recently) Peaq, and currently has a market capitalization of roughly $7 million USD.
In May, OVR’s partnership with the DePIN-focused Peaq blockchain further enhanced the project's functionality. Peaq ID has been integrated into the OVR mobile application, ensuring that submitted mapping data is attributed accurately to each contributor.
Furthermore, OVR patented an end-to-end encrypted VPS system using Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology, enhancing security for spatial AI applications.
In addition to locations already mapped by the community, the recent integration with Mapillary and Panoramax datasets in March has expanded global VPS coverage, enhancing machine perception for robotics.
