Hi Friends,
I was curious to know if anyone has tried investing in Start Engine - the Kevin O'Leary promoted investing platform:
From what I can tell, the platform allows early stage companies to "pitch" their business to the users of Start Engine, who can choose which companies they would like to invest in. These early stage companies are private, so they also have a secondary market where you can get liquidity on these investments.
Sounds similar to investing in a venture capital fund or private equity fund - you invest early in hopes that the company succeeds and has a liquidity event at many times your initial investment. The idea is interesting, and is allowing those who may not be qualified purchasers or accredited investors to have access to these early stage investments.
Of course, with a VC or PE fund, they have industry expertise and vast amounts of capital to help ensure the company they are backing actually has that liquidity event so the risk is lower of a total loss.
Has anyone tried using the Start Engine platform before?
Thanks for coming by,
Brian

Excellent information, thanks for sharing @brian.rrr
I have never used Start Engine platform beforr, but I sometimes invest in private-equity funds. It sounds fine that Start Engine allows not qualifued or accredited investors to have access the early stage invesment.
